Published by - (02/12/02) In addition to classical funding sources (European Commission, national governments, benevolent organisations, corporate foundations, etc), you should be as creative as possible in thinking about sources. Remember to think also in terms of gaining access to resources ? money is just one resource at your disposal. For example, if you need access to audio-visual equipment, why not ask a supplier of such equipment to loan it to you for a reduced rate, or even without cost? If you need a meeting place, why not ask a company in your area if you can use their conference facilities free of charge? An often overlooked element of funding is saving money and getting ?in-kind? support, rather than concentrating on getting cash funding. Also, those organisations that might help with cash funding will be impressed by your efforts in trying to get in-kind support.
